How Tutorie collects, uses and protects your information, and the terms that apply when you book with us.
Last updated: 21 September 2026
This page explains how Tutorie Limited ("Tutorie", "we", "us", "our") collects and uses your information, and sets out the terms that apply when you book a class, mock test or resource with us. If anything here isn't clear, contact us at admin@tutorie.co.uk or 07961 606916 and we'll happily explain.
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
We don't ask for or store any payment card details — see Payments below.
Almost all of the information we hold is given to us directly by you, when you:
We use this information to arrange and deliver the tutoring, mock tests and resources you've asked for, to communicate with you about your booking, and to send occasional updates about classes, taster days and availability if you've agreed to hear from us.
Under UK GDPR, we rely on one or more of the following: your consent (which you can withdraw at any time by contacting us); performance of a contract with you, to deliver the tutoring or resources you've booked; and our legitimate interests in running and improving Tutorie, where this doesn't override your own rights and interests.
We don't sell your data. We use a small number of trusted third-party services to help us run Tutorie, who process data on our behalf:
We may also disclose information where we're required to by law.
Our website uses Google Analytics, which places cookies on your device to help us understand visitor numbers and how our pages are used. This information is aggregated and doesn't identify you personally. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time.
We take payments by direct bank transfer only — we never ask for or store card details on our website. When you make a bank transfer to us, that payment is processed by your own bank, not by Tutorie directly.
We keep your information for as long as we're actively tutoring your child, plus a reasonable period afterwards for our own record-keeping and legal obligations (typically no more than a few years after your last booking with us), after which it is securely deleted.
Under data protection law, you have the right to: access a copy of the information we hold about you; ask us to correct anything inaccurate or incomplete; ask us to delete your information in certain circumstances; object to or restrict how we use it; and ask us to transfer your data to another organisation. There's no charge for making a request, and we'll respond within one month. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at admin@tutorie.co.uk.
As a tutoring service, we necessarily hold information about children. This is always provided to us by a parent or guardian, used solely to deliver tutoring to that child, and never used for marketing directly to children.
If you have any concerns about how we've handled your information, please contact us first at admin@tutorie.co.uk so we can put things right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Free consultations are exactly that — free, with no obligation to book further lessons. Once you decide to go ahead, a place on a class or course is only confirmed once we've received your booking details and, where applicable, your deposit.
Group classes are reserved with a refundable deposit, which goes towards your first paid session. If your child doesn't attend the first booked session, the deposit becomes non-refundable, unless this is due to unforeseen circumstances (we may ask for supporting evidence). Fees are payable by bank transfer using the reference given at checkout; we'll confirm receipt within 1 business day.
1-1 classes (online and in-person): we require at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a session, unless there are extenuating circumstances.
Group classes (online and in-person): if your child misses a week, we'll provide that week's work for them to catch up on, but the session still needs to be paid for — missed group sessions cannot be refunded or transferred.
Ending a group class place: as classes run to a fixed weekly timetable with limited spaces, we require 4 weeks' notice to stop attending a group class, whether online or in-person.
Mock test bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable once confirmed. If your child is unable to attend due to illness, a GP note may be requested before we can arrange an alternative date.
All Tutorie tutors are DBS-checked. We expect all students to treat tutors and classmates with respect, and we reserve the right to end a booking without refund in cases of serious misconduct. If you have any safeguarding concerns, please contact us directly.
Any guides, worksheets, past papers or other materials we provide are for the personal use of your own child only, and may not be copied, resold or redistributed without our permission.
We take great care in preparing your child for their exams, but we can't guarantee specific results or school offers, as these ultimately depend on each school's own admissions process. Nothing in these terms limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
We may update this page from time to time to reflect changes in our services or the law. The "last updated" date at the top shows when it was last revised.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
